Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
Unexpected monthly charges after a trial are usually caused by recurring billing still being turned on, or by a different Microsoft account or payment source than expected.
Use these steps to track and stop the charges:
- Go to the Microsoft account Services & subscriptions page: https://account.microsoft.com/services and sign in with the Microsoft account that might have started the 14‑day trial.
- Under the Microsoft 365 or other subscription, check:
- Whether it shows Recurring billing as On.
- The Next charge or Expires on date.
- If recurring billing is On and a Cancel or Turn off recurring billing option is available, select it to stop future monthly charges.
- If there is no Cancel option, follow the guidance in Unable to cancel your Microsoft subscription:
- Confirm the correct account is being used.
- Make sure there are no overdue amounts, as overdue balances can block cancellation.
- If the charge might be on a different Microsoft account, or the charge is not recognized, go to the Manage your payments page from the billing article and use Investigate on the transaction to see which subscription and account it belongs to.
- After identifying the subscription, request a refund if eligible by following the steps in How to get a refund on a Microsoft subscription.
If the subscription was purchased through a third party (for example, an app store or retailer), cancellation and refund must be handled directly with that seller as described in the cancellation article.
