Request to Reopen Certification Renewal Window – Azure Administrator Associate

Dear Microsoft Certification Support Team,

I hope you are doing well.

I am writing to kindly request a possible exception regarding the renewal of my certification Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104), which expired on March 13, 2026.

Unfortunately, I only realized the expiration today, March 17, 2026, as I did not receive the renewal reminder emails due to an Outlook rule that automatically redirected Microsoft notifications to another folder.

Because of this configuration issue, I was unaware that my renewal window was about to expire. I have always maintained my certifications and this situation was completely unintentional.

Considering that the certification expired very recently (only four days ago), I would like to kindly ask if it would be possible to reopen the renewal assessment for my certification.

I truly value the Microsoft certification program and would greatly appreciate any consideration you can provide in this case.

The renewal period is open for 180 days before your expiry date. The renewal window cannot be extended or reopened. There are no exceptions.

My certification expired. What happens now? If your certification expires, you must earn the certification again by passing the required exam(s).

Certification renewals cannot be reopened or processed after the certification has expired, regardless of the reason or how recently the expiration occurred.

For Microsoft role-based and specialty certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104):

• They are valid for one year from the date all requirements are completed.
• Renewal must be completed before the certification expiration date using the free online renewal assessment.
• After the certification expires, it is no longer possible to renew it; the certification must be re-earned by passing all required exam(s).
• There are no alternative paths or exceptions to renew an expired certification, including via beta exams or retaking the original exam before expiration.

To regain the Azure Administrator Associate certification, the only supported option is to take and pass the required AZ-104 exam again.
