Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
Refunds or charge reversals cannot be processed here because there is no access to accounts or payment instruments.
To move forward with unauthorized or unapproved Microsoft 365/Office subscription charges on a credit card:
- Investigate the charge and locate the subscription
- Sign in to the Microsoft account that may be associated with the charge and review services and billing.
- Use the guidance in How to investigate a billing charge from Microsoft (linked from the Q&A answer in context) to identify which subscription or product is being billed.
- Cancel the subscription and check refund eligibility
- Once the subscription is identified, cancel it first; refund eligibility for Microsoft subscriptions is evaluated after cancellation.
- Follow How to get a refund on a Microsoft subscription to see if the charge qualifies for a refund. Not all cancellations result in a refund, but the article provides the official flow and a self-help tool for Microsoft 365.
- If the charge is accidental or unauthorized
- For accidental or unauthorized purchases, use the process described in Cancel an order or pre-order from Microsoft Store – How do I cancel an unauthorized or accidental purchase? which directs to the refund request flow for Microsoft Store purchases.
- If the charge still cannot be identified or appears fraudulent, contact Microsoft Support directly (billing/support contact paths are described in the Q&A posts in context). Provide the date, amount, and last 4 digits of the card so support can locate the transaction.
- If Microsoft cannot locate or reverse the charge
- If Microsoft Support and the self-service tools cannot find or refund the transaction, contact the card issuer/bank and dispute the charge as unauthorized. The bank can investigate and may reverse the transaction and, if needed, block the card and issue a new one.
Because the purchases date back to 2022, be aware that some older charges may fall outside standard refund windows; this will be evaluated according to the applicable Microsoft refund policies in the referenced articles.
