Hi! Check if your camera is working properly in the Camera app. Press Windows + S > Type Camera > Open the camera app > Accept and Allow access to the camera.

Also test your camera on other websites using a different browser, such as Microsoft Edge or Firefox.

If the camera works in some places and not others, open Windows Settings > Privacy and Security > Camera > Enable Camera access and also the apps in Allow apps to access the camera.

    • See also the other options.

If the problem persists, please send me the manufacturer and model of your camera and your computer.

    • Press WINDOWS + R > Type "msinfo32" > In System Summary, send me a screenshot.

Follow these steps in Windows to fix a camera that works in general but not in specific browser sites like Monkey or OmeTV:

    1. Check that Windows lets apps use the camera
      1. Select Start > Settings > Privacy & security > Camera.
      2. Make sure Camera access is turned On.
      3. Make sure Let apps access your camera is turned On.
      4. Scroll down and make sure Allow desktop apps to access your camera is turned On, because browsers like Chrome are desktop apps.
    2. Close other apps that might be using the camera
      1. Right‑click the taskbar and select Task Manager.
      2. In Processes, close any app that could be using the camera (Teams, Zoom, other browser windows, etc.) by right‑clicking it and choosing End task.
      3. Close and reopen Chrome, then try the site again.
    3. Test the camera in the Windows Camera app
      1. Open Start > Camera.
      2. If the preview works here but not in Chrome, the issue is with browser/site permissions or conflicts, not the camera hardware.
    4. Update the camera driver
      1. Select Start > Device Manager.
      2. Expand Cameras.
      3. Right‑click the camera > Update driver.
      4. Choose Search automatically for drivers and restart the PC after any update.
    5. Check for Windows updates
      1. Select Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Check for updates.
      2. Install all updates, including any optional camera updates, then restart.

If the camera works in the Windows Camera app and in some apps, but not on a specific website in Chrome after these steps, the remaining cause is usually that the browser site permissions or in‑site camera selection are misconfigured, or another extension/tab is blocking access.
