Processes in Microsoft 365 for setting up Office apps, redeeming product keys, and activating licenses.
Hello @Asanda,
Thank you for reaching out and for explaining the situation.
To better understand why the license is showing as Office Professional Plus 2024 after activation, I’d like to clarify how the ESD Office 365 Business Standard key was redeemed, as this plays an important role in how the license is assigned.
Could you please let me know how your client redeemed the key?
Specifically, when they redeemed the key, did they sign in using an existing work or school account that belongs to an organization or tenant you already had, or was the key redeemed without an existing tenant, which resulted in the creation of a new Microsoft work account (for example, an account ending with @onmicrosoft.com)?
If there was no existing tenant at the time of redemption, Microsoft automatically creates a new tenant and assigns the license there. In that case, if Office is later signed in with a different account, it may not pick up the Business Standard subscription correctly and could display a different product name.
If they already had an existing tenant and redeemed the key while signed in to that tenant, the license should have been added directly to it.

Once you confirm how the key was redeemed, I’ll be able to guide more accurately on the next steps.
Thank you for your cooperation, and I look forward to your response.
Kind regards,
