A family of Microsoft spreadsheet software with tools for analyzing, charting, and communicating data.
Page breaks in Excel cannot be highlighted or colored differently. Excel shows:
- Automatic page breaks as dashed lines
- Manual page breaks as solid lines
To make them easier to work with, use Page Break Preview, which enlarges and clearly shows page boundaries:
- Go to the View tab.
- Select Page Break Preview.
When finished, return to Normal view:
- On the View tab, in Workbook Views, click Normal.
- If the dashed page break lines are distracting in Normal view, they can be hidden:
- Click File > Options.
- Go to Advanced.
- Under Display options for this worksheet, clear Show page breaks.
This does not change their color, but it either makes them more visible (Page Break Preview) or hides them entirely in Normal view.
