    Hi @Nayyar Abbas,

    Thank you for reaching out.

As of now, there is an ongoing issue with synchronizing Gmail and Yahoo accounts in classic Outlook.

While waiting for Microsoft look into this issue, you can try the following workaround they recommended:

When Outlook is not syncing, it is happening in part because Outlook is not prompting you to sign in and refresh the credentials. The workaround steps below are expected to cause Outlook to prompt you to sign in to your account. These steps do not remove or otherwise affect the account.

    • Close Outlook.
    • From the Windows Start menu, search for Credential Manager and open it. On Windows 10 you may need to open the Control Panel to access Credential Manager. For more information, please go to Accessing Credential Manager.
    • Under Manage your credentials, select Windows Credentials.
    • Scroll down to Generic credentials and locate those starting with MicrosoftOffice16_Data:OAUTH2.
    • Expand each of these and hover over MicrosoftOffice16_Data:OAUTH2 until it shows the full name including the tp_google_imap_Oauth2 or tp_yahoo_imap_Oauth2. These are the credentials for your account.
    • Select Remove for each of these with the MicrosoftOffice16_Data:OAUTH2. There are two or four of these credentials for each Gmail & Yahoo account so make sure you remove each of them.
    • If you want to avoid removing Google or Yahoo IMAP credentials except for the specific affected account, you can map the credentials by comparing them to the identities in this registry key below. Open Registry Editor and paste this path in the Address bar at the top.  Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\Identity\Identities
    • The sub keys to this registry key above include your Gmail or Yahoo identity. At the beginning of the identity registry key is a number that matches your Gmail or Yahoo credential in Credential Manager. See the examples below for reference. MSOffice OAUTH2 message
    • In the case above the registry key starts with 11526349…. MSOATH registry key
    • Restart Outlook and sign in to your Gmail or Yahoo account.
    • Restart Outlook again after you sign in if it does not start syncing right away.

If the first set of steps above do not address the issue, use the steps below to remove the identity registry key for the account. These steps are expected to cause Outlook to prompt you to sign in to your account. These steps do not remove or otherwise affect the account.

    1. Close Outlook.
    2. Right click the Windows Start Button, select Run, type Regedit and select OK.
    3. Paste the path below in the Regedit Address Bar and press Enter. Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\Identity\Identities
    4. Under the Identities key, select each sub key until you find the one that matches the email address that is not syncing.
    5. Delete the Identities registry key, example in red below. Look for the corresponding Gmail or Yahoo email address, example in purple. That is the identity key in the left column to delete. After you delete the key, restart Outlook and sign in again. Reg edit example

To address synchronization errors in Outlook such as 0x800CCC0E (“cannot synchronize subscribed folders”), use the supported synchronization and OST repair steps for Outlook on Windows.

    1. Try resynchronizing the affected folder
      1. In Outlook, right-click the folder that is failing to sync.
      2. Select Properties.
      3. Select Clear Offline Items, then select OK.
      4. On the ribbon, go to the Send/Receive tab.
      5. Select Update Folder.
      6. Wait for synchronization to complete and check whether the error still occurs.
    2. Rebuild the OST file if folder resync does not help
      1. Close Outlook.
      2. In File Explorer, browse to:
        • C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook
      3. If the folder is hidden:
        • On the View menu, select Options.
        • On the View tab, select Show hidden files and folders and clear Hide extensions for known file types, then select OK.
      4. Locate the OST file(s) for the profile and rename each from .ost to .old.
        • If a File is in use error appears, open Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Delete → Task Manager), go to Processes, and ensure Outlook.exe and Winword.exe are not running. If they are, select each and choose End Process.
      5. Start Outlook.
      6. Outlook will display Preparing for first use and download mailbox data again. The time required depends on mailbox size.
      7. After synchronization completes, test whether the subscribed folders now sync without error.
    3. Preserve local-only data (if any) If there is local data in the OST that does not exist on the server (for example, items in local-only folders):
      1. Before deleting/renaming the OST, export that data to a PST file:
        • Use FileOpen → export to an Outlook Data File (.pst) and choose Do not import duplicates when re-importing later.
      2. After Outlook recreates the OST and finishes syncing from the server, import the PST back into the mailbox using the Do not import duplicates option.
    4. For older Outlook versions (2003/2007) If using Outlook 2003 or 2007 with an OST, the OST Integrity Check Tool (Scanost.exe) can be used to detect and repair synchronization inconsistencies:
      1. Exit Outlook.
      2. Run Scanost.exe from the installed location.
      3. Choose the profile that contains the OST.
      4. Select Connect when prompted.
      5. Select Repair Errors if automatic correction is desired.
      6. Select Begin Scan.
      7. Review the “OST Integrity Check” report message in the Deleted Items folder after the scan.

If, after these steps, synchronization still fails, the issue is unlikely to be caused by the OST file and further server-side or connectivity troubleshooting would be required.
