Outlook for Mac 16.107.1 - Signature is double spaced in email (new and reply)

This issue (or something closely related) was discussed in June 2025 in this thread

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/4735011/signature-spacing-issues-everything-is-double-spac

However, all the solutions provided in the thread do not work for me.

From one day to another, my email signature (and the text field in general) is double spaced. It is not shown as double spaced however (see screenshot), and in the signature editor it is displayed correctly. The only way to make it single spaced is by selecting "Remove space before paragraph" and then selecting "Remove space after paragraph" (or vice versa, but both are needed).

I have edited the signature, reverted to legacy and back, rebooted, etc.

The only thing in the list of the above mentioned thread that i have not been able to do is "Switch off Experimental Features", as the described Enable Experimental Features and “Enable New Outlook” options do not exist when i go to Outlook > Settings > General

Please help, i want to use Outlook again without formatting my signature every single time i write an email.

Thank you

The context only covers how to change and manage signatures in Outlook and one known Mac signature bug that was already fixed; it does not contain any information about double-spacing behavior in Outlook for Mac 16.107.1 or a supported workaround for this specific issue.
