    Hi Bryant, Trish,

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your experience. I understand how frustrating it can be when both Outlook and Teams stop working on your Android device. I’m here to help look into this with you.

To narrow down the issue and better understand what’s happening, could you please help me with a few additional details?

Are you signing in with a personal account (such as @outlook.com or @hotmail.com), or a work/business account provided by your organization?

If you’re using a Microsoft 365 Business account, are you an end user, or do you have Global Administrator permissions?

Do you experience the same sign‑in issue when accessing Outlook or Microsoft Teams via a web browser?

For work accounts, are you using the Microsoft Authenticator app as part of the sign‑in process? If so, please check whether the Authenticator app is fully up to date. In some cases, updating the Authenticator app and then retrying the sign‑in can help complete the authentication flow successfully.

I look forward to your response and the additional information.

Please note that our initial response may not always resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to identify the cause and move toward a solution. Thank you very much for your time, and your understanding is truly appreciated.

Try these steps in order on the Android device:

    1. Update Android System WebView and Chrome
      • Open the Google Play Store.
      • Search for Android System WebView and tap Update.
      • Search for Google Chrome and tap Update.
      • Fully close Outlook and Teams, then try opening and signing in again.
    2. Turn off power-saving / battery optimization for Microsoft apps Some Android models block background components needed for sign-in.
      • Turn off system Power saving mode (at least while testing).
      • In device settings, exclude Microsoft Authenticator and/or Company Portal from battery optimization so they can run in the background.
      • On Huawei devices, for example: Phone Manager > Auto-launch > Secondary launch management > Enable Authenticator/Company Portal.
      • Open Authenticator/Company Portal first, then open Outlook and Teams and try to sign in again.
    3. Reset the Outlook account inside the app (if it opens far enough)
      • Open Outlook.
      • Go to Settings (gear icon).
      • Select the affected email account.
      • Tap Reset Account and let it complete, then try sign-in again.
    4. If sign-in still hangs
      • Make sure the latest versions of Outlook for Android and Teams are installed from the Play Store.
      • If this is a work or school account and sign-in is still stuck, contact the organization’s IT admin so they can check sign-in logs and device registration in Microsoft Entra ID/Intune and confirm the account is allowed to sign in on mobile.

If none of the above changes behavior, collect screenshots/error details and escalate through the organization’s IT support or Microsoft support, as the issue may be specific to the device model or tenant configuration.
