Is there a tool that lets me customize the volume popup design? I’m using 25H2.

Windows 11 version 25H2 does not include native tools or safe registry modifications to customize the visual design of the volume popup. The operating system integrates this overlay deeply into the modern shell through processes like explorer.exe to maintain visual consistency. Attempting to force visual changes by altering core system files or creating unsupported keys in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer will not work and can cause shell stability issues.

If you want to change the appearance of the volume overlay safely, you need to use a third-party application like ModernFlyouts, which is available directly from the Microsoft Store. Rather than modifying protected system files, this application runs independently to intercept volume keystrokes. It seamlessly hides the default Windows popup and displays its own customizable design in its place. While effective, keep in mind that third-party tools are not officially supported and might occasionally require updates after major Windows feature releases to maintain compatibility.

If you prefer to stick strictly to native software without installing external applications, you must use the default design. However, you can always press Win+Ctrl+V on your keyboard to quickly open the advanced volume mixer. This native feature provides granular audio control per application, giving you an efficient alternative to the basic volume popup.

Windows 11 25H2 does not provide any supported way or built-in tool to customize the on-screen volume popup design.

Recent Windows 11 updates add an enhanced volume mixer in Quick Settings (including the WIN+CTRL+V shortcut) and options to manage spatial audio, but they do not expose UI customization for the volume OSD itself. The appearance of that popup cannot be changed through system settings or official Microsoft tools.
