Sometimes the wifi sign vanished without doing anything and get return after restarting 20/30 times or sometimes i have to install new windows. In my laptop, Disabling driver and restarting again can't solve this problem. Is this my laptops problem or windows bug? I have heard that many users face same kind of problem. User's image

    Hi soumyo,

Please turn off your laptop and hold down the power button for at least 10 seconds, your laptop will re-initiate devices and may recognize the Wi-Fi card correctly.

After that, you should navigate to your laptop support page to download and install latest Wi-Fi drivers for your system.

If you have any updates, please feel free to let me know.

If that does not resolve the problem:, the best option is to go to the support page for your laptop on the manufacturers website, to download and manually re-install the version of WiFi (WLAN) drivers they recommend for your laptop model.

If you currently do not have an Internet connection on the laptop, you will need to download the drivers installer on another device.

If you have any difficulty locating that support page, click your Start Button, then just type msinfo and press Enter, please provide a screenshot of the resulting System Information window.

The disappearing Wi‑Fi icon and missing Wi‑Fi option usually indicate that Windows is not detecting or enabling the wireless network adapter, or that its driver is unstable. This is typically a driver or hardware issue on the device, not a general Windows bug.

Use these steps to narrow it down and fix it:

    1. Run the built‑in Network troubleshooter
      • Select Start > Settings > Network & Internet > Status.
      • Scroll down and select Network troubleshooter and follow the instructions.
This can automatically repair common adapter and configuration problems.
    2. Check if Wi‑Fi is just hidden or disabled
      • On the taskbar, select the Network / Sound / Battery icons and confirm that Wi‑Fi is turned on and not in Airplane mode.
      • If the Wi‑Fi toggle itself is missing, continue with the next steps.
    3. Verify the adapter in Device Manager
      • Open Device Manager (search for it from Start).
      • Expand Network adapters and look for the wireless adapter.
      • If it appears with a down arrow, right‑click and choose Enable device.
      • If it is missing completely, Windows is not detecting it and a driver or hardware issue is likely.
    4. Update or reinstall the wireless driver
      • In Device Manager, right‑click the wireless adapter > Properties > Driver and check Driver Version and Driver Date.
      • Run Windows Update and also compare with the latest driver from the laptop manufacturer’s website; install any newer driver.
      • If problems started after an update, uninstall and reinstall the driver:
        1. In Device Manager, right‑click the wireless adapter > Uninstall device.
        2. Check Attempt to remove the driver for this device and select Uninstall.
        3. Restart the PC; Windows will try to reinstall the driver automatically. If it does not, install the driver downloaded from the manufacturer.
    5. If the adapter is not detected at all
      • When the wireless adapter does not appear in Device Manager even after reinstalling Windows or drivers, this strongly suggests a hardware problem (loose card, failing adapter, or motherboard issue). In that case, contact the laptop manufacturer or a repair service to have the hardware checked.

If the Wi‑Fi icon and adapter repeatedly vanish and only return after many restarts or full reinstalls, and the latest drivers are already installed, the most probable cause is a failing or intermittently connected Wi‑Fi adapter in the laptop.
