    Thank you for your reply.

Meanwhile, please check if you can sign in with your account here on the web browser and see if the verification code is being sent.

If you are able to sign in successfully, you can add another verification method to prove your identity. If you are having trouble signing in, wait for Microsoft Account recovery team to respond.

Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

Could you please let me know if you have any other verification methods available, such as an email address or an authenticator app, to verify your identity?

Have you checked your phone’s message settings to see if it is blocking texts from unknown numbers? Please also check your phone’s blocked senders list to see if the number from Microsoft is included. If it is, you can remove it from the list and try requesting the verification code again.

In some cases, the block may be tied to a specific network. Try switching your PC to a different network, such as a mobile hotspot, and see if you can receive the verification code.

If you are still having issues, you can submit the Account Reinstatement form to the Microsoft account digital safety team.

Select "I am not receiving the provided code" and click Submit.

Follow these steps to troubleshoot not receiving the verification code by phone:

    1. Avoid repeated requests
      • Do not make excessive or repetitive code requests to the same or alternative phone numbers. This can trigger protection systems and cause Microsoft to temporarily block sending verification codes.
    2. Check for temporary blocks or unusual activity
      • Microsoft may temporarily stop sending codes if sign-in attempts or requests look unusual or risky compared to normal activity. In this case, waiting some time before trying again can allow the block to clear automatically.
    3. Verify the phone number type
      • Ensure the number added to the account is a mobile phone number, not a VOIP number. VOIP numbers cannot be used to receive Microsoft verification codes. If it is VOIP, add a valid mobile phone number instead.
    4. Check phone and SMS settings
      • Confirm the phone is not blocking texts from unknown numbers.
      • If necessary, change phone settings to allow messages from unknown senders, then choose the option like I don't have a code on the verification screen to have a new code sent.
      • Make sure the SMS inbox is not full and the messaging app is working correctly.
    5. Consider regional or traffic issues
      • In some regions, Microsoft SMS services may have limited functionality or temporary issues, or there may be heavy compromised traffic from the geographic location. In these cases, code delivery may be delayed or fail temporarily and usually resolves automatically after some time.
    6. If still not receiving codes
      • Use another available verification method on the account (such as backup email) if possible.
      • If no method works and sign-in is blocked, use the Sign-in helper tool or contact Microsoft Support for further technical help. Support agents cannot send verification codes or change account details but can help troubleshoot.
