Account and credential access is controlled strictly by the Microsoft account system. If the personal Microsoft account used for the AZ‑900 registration and payment is no longer accessible and no alternate work or school account was added, access to the associated Learn profile data (including exam history) and receipts is lost.
For a personal Microsoft account:
- Try to recover the Microsoft account
- If the issue is with signing in (password/username not working), follow the guidance under:
- "Reset your password" if the password is forgotten.
- "My username and password have stopped working" if the credentials are no longer recognized.
- "Forgotten your Microsoft account username" if the sign‑in email/username is unknown.
- Use the Microsoft account recovery options and the Sign‑in Helper tool as described in the account recovery documentation.
- If the issue is with signing in (password/username not working), follow the guidance under:
- If recovery is not possible
- The Learn profile guidance states that if access to the personal Microsoft account used for sign‑in is lost and no alternate work or school account was added, this results in loss of access to the profile and its data.
- Microsoft Credentials Support cannot assist with recovery of personal Microsoft accounts and cannot transfer or restore the contents of a Learn profile that cannot be accessed.
- Get additional help
- For any remaining options related to the Microsoft account itself (not the exam system), use the Microsoft Account Help self‑service entry point.
- If direct assistance from a support agent is needed (for example, to understand remaining options or limitations), use the "I need to talk to a customer support agent" path under Microsoft account help.
Because exam history, certifications, and related receipts are tied to the original Microsoft account identity, they cannot be moved to a new email ID or profile if that original personal account cannot be recovered.
