AZ-305 is the required exam for the Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification, and passed exams and certifications are managed through the Microsoft Learn profile and Certification Dashboard, not activated manually.
Use these steps to verify and access the certification and, if needed, contact the correct support team so they can fix the issue on the account:
- Confirm the certification requirement is met
- AZ-305 is the required exam for the Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification. Ensure that all prerequisite certification requirements listed on the certification page are met.
- Review the certification details here to confirm requirements: Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
- Check the correct Learn profile and account
Missing or inactive certifications are often due to using a different account than the one used when registering for the exam.
- Sign in to Microsoft Learn: https://learn.microsoft.com/
- Select the profile name (top-right) → Profile.
- Go to Credentials → Certifications and verify whether AZ-305 and the related certification appear.
- If only AZ-900 appears, try signing in with any other Microsoft or work/school accounts that might have been used to register for AZ-305.
- If multiple profiles exist, the certification may be on a different profile.
- Check the Certification Dashboard and download/print
- From the Learn profile, open the Certification Dashboard (see “Access your certificates, badges, and transcript”).
- In the Dashboard, use View Certificates to see if the Azure Solutions Architect Expert certificate is listed.
- If it appears, select it and use Print or Download to obtain a copy.
- If the certificate is not visible but the exam shows as passed, the certification may not yet have been fully awarded or there may be a profile/linking issue.
- If the certificate still does not appear, contact Microsoft Credentials Support
Since the exam result email confirms a pass but the certification is not active or visible, the issue must be resolved by the credentials support team:
- Go to: https://aka.ms/credentialssupport
- Sign in with the same account used for the AZ-305 exam.
- Click Continue and complete the required contact details, then Save.
- Open the same link again; it will auto-select Product Family: Learning and Service: Microsoft Credentials.
- Fill in the support request form, describing that AZ-305 shows as passed in email but the certification is not active in the Learn profile/Certification Dashboard.
- Submit the ticket and wait for the support team’s response (it can take up to ~72 business hours based on similar cases in the context).
- If the issue is only with viewing/sharing the certificate link in the email
- Instead of using the email link, always access certificates directly via the Certification Dashboard and Credentials → Certifications in the Learn profile, as described above.
- The email link may fail if the browser is signed in with a different Microsoft account than the one used for the exam.
If after following these steps the certification still does not appear or remains inactive, only Microsoft Credentials Support can correct the account or credential mapping.
