Country code doesnt support

Question

Does microsoft ended support with vietnam phone number because when I tried to adding phone number it say my country code doesnt support please use an email but I need to add a phone number to redeem the reward from microsoft reward. Please help with my question

To answer you question, It still allowed many users in Vietnam to use SMS calls/texts for verification and account recovery. The error that you have there means they don’t support verification via that number right now.(phone verification for rewards may not support Vietnam numbers)

I suggest to get and try a number from another carrier for the meantime.

Here I tried It a mobile line type this is my first time use the number all my vpn and proxy are already turned off month ago

Vietnam phone numbers are still supported for Microsoft account security and verification, but there are specific limitations and requirements that can affect Microsoft Rewards redemption.

For Microsoft Rewards, phone verification can fail or be blocked in these cases:

1. The number is VoIP
   • VoIP numbers cannot be used for verification or Rewards redemption.
   • A mobile or landline number is required.
2. The number has been used on too many accounts
   • A maximum of 6 Microsoft Rewards accounts per household can be associated with a single phone number.
   • If that limit is reached, the system may reject the number and suggest using email instead.
3. The system has temporarily blocked SMS to the number
   • Excessive or repetitive verification attempts, or unusual activity, can cause Microsoft to block sending codes to a number for a period of time.
   • In such cases, waiting and avoiding repeated requests is required.
4. Region or traveling/VPN issues
   • Microsoft Rewards points must be redeemed in the same region as the Microsoft account.
   • If accessing from another country/region, or via VPN/proxy that hides the true location, redemption and phone verification can fail.

To proceed:

1. Ensure the number is a Vietnam mobile or landline, not VoIP.
2. Confirm that the number is not already used on more than 6 Rewards accounts in the household.
3. Turn off any VPN/proxy and make sure the Microsoft account region matches the actual location (Vietnam).
4. If there have been many failed attempts, wait at least 48 hours before trying again.
5. If the system still insists the country code is not supported and only offers email, follow the prompt to add email for account security, then try Rewards redemption again from the Rewards dashboard.

If the problem persists after these checks, contact Microsoft Rewards support via the Rewards site, as account-specific blocks or regional restrictions cannot be changed from the user side.
