    Hello

Many users seem to have this issue recently. Microsoft is still investigating this issue. The current workaround is published here: https://support.microsoft.com/office/users-get-errors-0x800ccc0e-0x800ccc0f-synchronizing-gmail-and-yahoo-accounts-in-classic-outlook-e5a7b684-7c5c-4848-ab2d-d48291451f67

Use the following checks and fixes in order.

    1. Confirm Outlook is online and connected
      • In classic Outlook, look at the bottom status bar.
      • If it shows Disconnected, Working Offline, or Trying to connect…, go to the Send/Receive tab and select Work Offline once to toggle back online.
      • After it shows Connected, choose Send/Receive again and test.
    2. Verify Internet connectivity
      • Open a browser (Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome).
      • Browse to http://www.microsoft.com or http://www.bing.com.
      • If those sites do not load, fix the network issue first (see Fix network connection issues in Windows).
    3. Check for large stuck messages in Outbox
      • In Outlook, open the Outbox folder.
      • Open the oldest stuck message.
      • If it has large attachments (around 20 MB or more), remove or reduce them, or replace them with a link. See Reduce attachment size to send large files with Outlook.
      • Send the message again and then test normal mail flow.
    4. If Outlook shows Gmail IMAP/POP errors when sending/receiving
      • If errors mention not being able to log on to the incoming server or synchronizing folders (for example error 0x800CCC0E), and this started after recently adding or re‑authenticating Gmail, the cause can be missing Gmail consent for Microsoft apps.
      • Make sure Outlook is updated to Current Channel Version 2412 Build 18324.20168 or later (see About Office: What version of Office am I using?).
      • When the error dialog appears in Outlook, use the Retry link. In the browser sign‑in window for Google, ensure the permission is checked for:
        • “Read, compose, send, and permanently delete all your email from Gmail.”
      • Complete sign‑in and then test send/receive again.
    5. If Outlook cannot add/sign in to Gmail at all
      • If Outlook shows messages like “We weren’t able to set up your Google account with IMAP. You may need to make changes to your Gmail settings.” or “The browser or app may not be secure.”, install an Outlook build that includes the Gmail sign‑in fix:
        • Beta Channel / Current Channel Preview / Current Channel: Version 2404 (Build 17531.10000) or later.
        • Monthly Enterprise Channel: Version 2407 (Build 17727.10000) or later.
      • After updating, add the Gmail account again in Outlook and complete the Google browser sign‑in.
      • If IMAP is disabled in Gmail, enable it following Google’s guidance in Add Gmail to another email client and then retry.
    6. If Outlook never prompts for the Gmail password
      • When configuring Gmail as IMAP in classic Outlook and no password prompt appears:
        • On the IMAP details page, ensure Require logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) is unchecked.
      • If it still fails, recreate the account via Control Panel:
        1. Open Control PanelMail.
        2. Select Email Accounts…New.
        3. Enter name, Gmail address, and password in both password fields, then select Next.
        4. Follow the prompts; enter the password again if asked.
        5. When setup completes, select Finish and restart Outlook.

If the problem started recently and coincides with changes to app passwords or authentication, also verify that the correct Google app password (not a Microsoft app password) is used for the Gmail account if app passwords are configured.
