    Hi @Jenny Greaney

Thank you for reach out and sharing your concern regarding sending large videos attachments. According your concern, Outlook limits the size for both email and attachments to 10 MB (megabytes).

In order to send large attachments using Outlook, I would recommend trying these steps:

    1. Save your file to a cloud service and share a link in your email
    • Sign in to onedrive.com
    • Open File Explorer and drag then drop the videos into your OneDrive.
    • Once the upload finished, click the Share button next to the file name.
    • Enter the emails of people you are sharing the videos with then select Copy link.

    1. Zip the files and attach
    • Locate the file to zip.
    • Right-click the file or folder, select (or point to) Send to, and then select Compressed (zipped) folder.
    • Attach the zipped video file in your email.

Outlook has a maximum message size, so very large video files usually cannot be sent as normal attachments. For classic Outlook with a business (Exchange) account, the default limit is about 10 MB for the entire message (body + attachments). Many internet email providers also limit messages to around 20 MB.

To send large videos from Outlook, use one of these options:

    1. Upload the video to a cloud location and send a link
      • Save the video to OneDrive or SharePoint.
      • In classic Outlook, create a new email.
      • On the Message tab, select Attach File in the Include group.
      • Choose the video from Browse Web Locations (OneDrive or SharePoint) instead of from This PC.
      • When prompted, choose to send a link rather than a copy. This keeps the email size small and avoids the attachment limit.
      • Adjust permissions on the link if needed by selecting the arrow next to the attachment name and choosing the appropriate sharing option.
    2. Compress (zip) the video and attach if it becomes small enough
      • In Windows, zip the video file (for example, using the built‑in “Zip and unzip files” feature).
      • In classic Outlook, open a new message and select Attach FileBrowse This PC.
      • Attach the zipped video file.
      • This only works if the compressed file is under the size limit enforced by Exchange/your email provider.
    3. If messages are stuck because of large attachments
      • Go to the Outbox in Outlook.
      • Open the stuck message and remove the large video attachment.
      • Either attach a smaller file or replace it with a cloud link as described above.

If larger limits are required in a Microsoft 365 business environment, an Exchange Online administrator can increase the mailbox message size limits, but using OneDrive/SharePoint links is still recommended for large videos.
