A family of Microsoft products that enable users to capture, organize, and reuse notes electronically.
Dear @Thanh Huynh,
Thank you for reaching out and sharing this question. I understand the importance of having your team clip web content directly into a shared OneNote notebook.
Currently, the OneNote Web Clipper only displays notebooks that exist under your OneDrive account. This includes personal notebooks and any OneDrive‑based notebooks that you shared with others or were shared with you.
Notebooks stored in Teams or SharePoint sites don't consistently appear as selectable locations in the Clipper’s menu, so clipping directly into those shared notebooks is not supported through the extension’s interface.
Below are several options you can use depending on your team’s setup:
Option 1: Print the webpage directly into the team notebook (Teams or SharePoint)
This is the most direct method when your shared notebook is hosted in a SharePoint or Teams site.
- Open the article you want to capture > Press Ctrl + P in the browser.
- Choose OneNote (Desktop) or OneNote (Desktop) - Protected as the printer > Print.
- When OneNote opens, select the team notebook and the specific section where you want the content stored.
This sends the page to the shared notebook immediately.

- If you need editable text from the printout, you can right‑click the printout and choose Copy Text from this Page of the Printout.
Option 2: Clip first, then move the page into the shared notebook
If your team prefers to keep using the Web Clipper interface, you can follow this workflow:
Clip the webpage into a personal notebook or a dedicated “Staging” section.
Open OneNote for Windows.
Right‑click the page you clipped.
Select Move or Copy.
Choose the team notebook and the target section.
This maintains the Clipper workflow while still allowing content to end up in your shared space.
I completely understand how these limitations in the OneNote Web Clipper can feel disruptive. It’s not just about aesthetics; these differences can genuinely affect how smoothly you work and navigate your day.
