I have lost a email that I used for my Xbox live account and it won't seem to let me log in any other way than to use that lost email, is there any other way to log in without an email nor a phone number hooked up to an account?

Basically for about a year or two I have been using a different email address for an Xbox live account under the gamer tag <PII removed> because I was having some problems with the current email I am using right now. I had to reinstall windows to fix an issue with my computer deleting the email information and the Xbox account forcing me to re-log into that account. Now I can't log into my Xbox account without that email but I have lost that email putting myself in a situation.

Would there be any way to log into the Xbox live account with only a gamer tag and a password since I have lost the email and have not set up a phone # onto that account?

Unfortunately, there is currently no way for you to log in with your Microsoft Account using only your gamertag since it pose a high security risks. Since this is a user-to-user support forum. Signing in with only a gamertag and password is not supported. Access to an Xbox profile always goes through the underlying Microsoft account, which must use at least one sign-in alias (email address or phone number).

Given that the original email is lost and no phone number was added, the only available paths are:

1. Try standard account recovery
   • Go to the Microsoft account sign-in page and choose Recover your account.
   • Enter any email address, phone number, or Skype name that might be linked to the gamertag.
   • If the account is found, follow the steps to receive a security code and reset the password, as described in the “My username and password have stopped working” article.
   • If one alias is not recognized, try any other possible aliases that may have been used on that account.
2. Use the Microsoft account recovery form
   • If normal reset options fail (for example, no access to the listed security info), use the Microsoft account recovery form.
   • Provide a separate working email address that can receive updates about the recovery request. This can be any active email, including a newly created Outlook.com address.
   • Fill in as much accurate information as possible about the account so Microsoft can verify ownership. The request is reviewed and a response is typically sent within 24 hours.
3. If recovery is unsuccessful
   • If the recovery form does not succeed and there is still no access to any email or phone alias on the account, support cannot override security or sign in the account based only on the gamertag.
   • In that situation, the Xbox profile (gamertag, purchases, progress) remains tied to the inaccessible Microsoft account, and a new Microsoft account and gamertag would be required for future use.

There is no alternative sign-in method that uses only a gamertag and password without first recovering the associated Microsoft account alias.
