Hello Altaf,
The MCSE: Windows Server 2003 certification you completed in 2007 is indeed a valid Microsoft credential, but there are a few important points to clarify. Microsoft retired the MCSE 2003 track many years ago, and the credential itself is no longer active in the current certification framework. However, your exam history and transcript remain part of Microsoft’s official certification records.
The reason you cannot see the certification in your current Microsoft account is that older certifications were originally managed under the Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) system, which used a Candidate ID (like the one you provided: 5708132) and was tied to the email address you registered at that time. These records were not automatically migrated to newer Microsoft Learn profiles. To retrieve your transcript or link it to your current account, you need to contact the Microsoft Certification Support team and request a merge of your historical MCP ID with your current Microsoft account.
The official process is:
Go to the Microsoft Certification support portal and open a case.
Provide your Candidate ID, the registered email address from 2007, and any exam details you have (which you already listed).
Request that your legacy MCP record be merged into your current Microsoft account.
Once the merge is completed, you will be able to access your transcript through the Microsoft Learn dashboard under “Certifications.” Keep in mind that while the transcript will confirm your MCSE credential, Microsoft no longer issues new certificates or badges for retired certifications. What you will receive is an official transcript showing your exam completions and certification status at the time.
If you need the transcript for employment or verification purposes, Microsoft still honors transcript requests for retired certifications. You can generate a transcript and share it with employers via the Microsoft transcript sharing tool once your account merge is complete.
I hope you've found something useful here. If it helps you get more insight into the issue, it's appreciated to accept the answer. Should you have more questions, feel free to leave a message. Have a nice day!
