I have stored pdf files that o need to convert ofx for other program, how do i do that?

There is no built-in way in Microsoft 365/Office or Excel to convert a PDF file directly to OFX. Office apps can work with PDF content, but only to the extent of opening, editing, or reusing it in Office formats (like Word or Excel) and then saving/exporting to PDF again.

From the available options:

1. Open or reuse PDF content in an Office app
   • In Word: go to File > Open, choose the PDF, and Word will import the PDF content into a .docx file so it can be edited or copied. This is useful if the PDF contains tables or lists that need to be moved into Excel. See “Edit PDF content in Word” referenced in the documentation.
   • In Excel: if the PDF was originally created from Excel or another Office app, the recommended approach is to go back to the original Office file, edit it there, and then save/export as PDF again if needed.
2. Save Office content as PDF
   • Once the data is in Excel or another Office app, it can be saved as PDF using File > Save As and choosing PDF (*.pdf) as the file type (Windows) or File > Save As/Save a copy > File Format > PDF (macOS). This only creates PDFs; it does not create OFX.
3. Use third-party tools for other formats
   • The documentation explicitly suggests using third-party PDF converter tools (including Adobe Acrobat) to convert PDFs into Office formats when needed. Similarly, conversion from PDF to OFX would require a specialized third-party converter or workflow outside of Office (for example, a tool that can read PDF statements, extract the transaction data, and export it as OFX).

Within Microsoft 365/Office and Excel, the supported path is:

1. Import PDF content into Word or copy/paste from the PDF.
2. Clean and structure the data in Excel.
3. Use an external tool or service that can take the structured Excel/CSV data and generate OFX.

Office itself does not provide a direct PDF → OFX export.
