    Welcome James Paxton,

I understand how frustrating it can be when Outlook is showing error 0x80070057 and you are unable to send or receive emails, while the same account works correctly on iPhone and Gmail.

Before proceeding, could you help narrow this down a bit:

    • Is the affected email account an Outlook.com/Microsoft account, or an IMAP/POP account from another provider?

Building on the earlier suggestions, you might also consider the following options:

Option 1: Create a new Outlook profile

    • Close Outlook
    • Open Control Panel and select Mail
    • Select Show Profiles, then Add
    • Set the new profile as default and open Outlook

    Option 2: Check Send/Receive groups

    • Open Outlook
    • Select the Send/Receive tab
    • Select Send/Receive Groups and make sure the account is included and enabled

I really hope that the information I gave above was helpful to you. Please feel free to reply below and let me know if you have further concern on this matter.

    Hello,

Are you using classic Outlook desktop or the new Outlook app?

This error often relates to account or sync settings. Open Outlook, go to File > Account Settings > Account Settings, select your email, then choose Repair. If the issue continues, remove the account from Outlook and add it again using File > Add Account, then sign in and let Outlook auto-configure settings. Also check File > Work Offline is not enabled, and confirm your internet status shows connected in Outlook.
