I'm having trouble logging into my account. I haven't received an email, and I also received a security alert beforehand.

Hello, I recently received a security alert at <Mod remove PII> @mail.com. I tried to log in to my account, but after entering my password, I was redirected to enter a code. The code never arrived, so I'm scared about my account. Please check.

    Hi Kelic Alexander

Thanks for posting. I understand how concerning it can be to receive a security alert and then be unable to sign in because the verification code never arrives.

Please kindly note that this is a public community forum, I do not have the ability, tools to unblock, recover accounts or bypass security. Only Microsoft’s official recovery process can restore access.

If codes are not arriving, it’s recommended to wait and try a different sign‑in method rather than retrying continuously. If you cannot access any listed security method, the only supported recovery path is the recovery form: https://account.live.com/acsr. Additionally, please note for recovery form:

    • Enter your locked out email and an alternate email where Microsoft can contact you.
    • Provide as many accurate details as possible, such as old passwords, frequent contacts/subject lines and submit from a familiar device/location.
    • Wait 24–72 hours for a response. You may refine and resubmit up to twice per day.
    • Please see this official guide to help you fill out the form more accurately: Help with the Microsoft account recovery form - Microsoft Support

If you prefer to speak with a live support agent, you can contact Microsoft Support directly for further assistance:

    • Go to Contact - Microsoft Support and login with any Microsoft personal account.
    • In the search box, type the brief description of your issue.
    • Click "Get Help", then scroll to the bottom and select "Contact Support”.
    • When prompted to select Products & Services, select "Other Products"; Under Category, select "Manage account security".
    • Look for and select "Chat with a support agent in your web browser" (during business hours) or a similar callback option (if available). Explain your situation clearly.

Once you regain access to your account, Microsoft recommends:

These steps help prevent future security alerts and sign‑in issues.

Please feel free to let me know how it goes and thank you for your understanding.

Note: Please follow the steps in our documentation to enable e-mail notifications if you want to receive the related email notification for this thread.

    Hello,

Are you trying to receive the code by email, SMS, or through an authenticator app?

If you are not receiving the code, go to the sign in page and select “Try another way” to choose a different verification method linked to your account. Check your Junk or Spam folder if using email, and confirm your alternate email or phone number is correct in your account security info. If no methods work, use the account recovery form at https://account.live.com/acsr

and complete it with as much detail as possible. This is the official way to regain access when verification codes do not arrive.
