account locked cant play minecraft

Hello,

My Microsoft account has suddenly been locked, and I am now unable to play Minecraft, which I purchased yesterday.

I have not made any changes to my account or engaged in any suspicious activity. The account is associated with this email address: ******@hotmail.com.

Could you please help me restore access to my account?

If you do not have any linked verification methods for a password reset, the only way to recover/unblock the account is through the account recovery web form: https://account.live.com/acsr

Important: If you have an active 2FA, ACSR will inform you that your recovery request will be ignored. If you only receive a message that the recovery request is either successful or indicates insufficient information, this means that 2FA is disabled.

You'll need to keep trying until you're verified by Microsoft, and you can do this up to 2 times every 24 hours.

If you didn't receive the results from the account recovery webform, please try submitting another request via Incognito/InPrivate window and using different devices and network services. Then please check your email inbox, junk, and spam folders.

To restore access to the locked Microsoft account and be able to use Outlook.com and Minecraft again, follow these steps:

1. Try to sign in to the Microsoft account as usual.
2. If a message appears that the account is locked or blocked, use the on-screen option or the Sign-in Helper to start the unblock process:
   • Go to Sign-in Helper: https://aka.ms/sign-in-helper
   • Follow the prompts to verify identity (usually via a security code sent to a phone number or email).
3. If prompted for a security code but none is received:
   • Any phone number that can receive text messages can be used; it does not have to be previously associated with the account.
   • Enter the numbers from the body of the message only, not from the header.
   • If a “usage limit exceeded” error appears, wait and try again later or use a different phone number.
4. If the account is locked due to suspicious activity or possible violation of the Microsoft Services Agreement, and there is a link beginning with aka.ms/ on the lock screen, select that link and complete the account reinstatement form. Submit it once and wait for the email response from Microsoft Online Safety support.
5. If sign-in still fails even with the correct password, use the standard recovery flow:
   • Go to Recover your account: https://account.live.com/password/reset
   • Enter the account’s email address and follow the steps to receive and enter a security code, then set a new password.
6. If the password reset or unlock still does not work, and the account remains blocked:
   • Follow the guidance in Unblock my Outlook.com account, starting again from the Sign-in Helper.
   • If that still fails, use the guidance in When you can't sign in to your Microsoft account (linked from the unblock article) to continue recovery and reach support if offered.

Once the Microsoft account is successfully unblocked and sign-in works again, Minecraft access purchased under that account should also work normally.
