Can you share the processor name so I can check if that is supported for Windows 11.

If it very old, buying a new device may be the only option.

Windows 11 has strict hardware requirements, so an older CPU can prevent installation or upgrade.

To run Windows 11, the PC must at minimum:

    1. Have a compatible 64-bit CPU
    2. Have at least 4 GB RAM
    3. Have 64 GB or larger storage
    4. Support TPM 2.0 in system firmware
    5. Have a graphics adapter compatible with DirectX 12 or later with a WDDM 2.0 driver

If the current CPU is not on the supported list, replacing the CPU (and often the motherboard and RAM) with hardware that meets these requirements is necessary to install Windows 11 on that PC.

Alternatively, staying on a supported Windows version is possible by:

    • Buying a new PC with Windows 11 preinstalled (recommended in the documentation), or
    • Installing Windows 10 on current or upgraded hardware and remaining on Windows 10, which is supported until October 14, 2025.

There is no free upgrade path from unsupported Windows versions directly to Windows 11. A Windows 11 license must be purchased (or a new PC with Windows 11 acquired) if not already eligible via Windows 10.
