How do I get rid of New Outlook permanently and use Classic Outlook

I don't care for "New Outlook"!!! It's "glitchy". I want to get rid of it on my computer and use "Classic" Outlook which worked fine.

What do I need to do to make this happen?

You can uninstall new Outlook from Windows Settings > Apps > Installed Apps.

As for Classic Outlook, it is not a free app. If you want to use it, make sure you have Microsoft 365 personal or family or premium license already. If you do a search of Outlook from the search box on yoru taskbar, and if Classic Outlook is not there, you can download and install it from here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/install-or-reinstall-classic-outlook-on-a-windows-pc-5c94902b-31a5-4274-abb0-b07f4661edf5

To stop using New Outlook and stay with Classic Outlook:

1. Make sure Classic Outlook is installed
   • If Classic Outlook is missing, install it using the steps in “You can't open classic Outlook on a new Windows PC” linked from the articles below.
2. Switch back to Classic Outlook from New Outlook
   • Open new Outlook for Windows.
   • Use the toggle at the top right of the window.
   • Choose Switch back to classic Outlook so Classic becomes the default again.
   • Alternatively, choose Use classic Outlook this time if Classic is only needed temporarily; next launch will still go to New Outlook.
3. If the toggle does not appear in New Outlook
   • Classic Outlook may not be installed. Install it using the store link in “You can't open classic Outlook on a new Windows PC”.
   • Then try launching Outlook (classic) from the Windows Start Menu (the icon without the New tag). This should surface the toggle again.
4. Prevent automatic switching to New Outlook (advanced)
   • If New Outlook keeps being enabled, hide the toggle so it cannot be turned on:
   • Create this registry value (for Outlook 2016/2019/2021/Microsoft 365):
     • Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Options\General
     • DWORD: HideNewOutlookToggle
     • Value: 1
   • Hiding the toggle prevents accidental or automatic switching to New Outlook.
5. If the “Go back to classic Outlook” button in New Outlook just closes
   • This issue has been fixed, but if still seen, use the store install link in “You can't open classic Outlook on a new Windows PC” to reinstall Classic Outlook.

After these steps, launch Outlook (classic) from the Start Menu and avoid using the New Outlook toggle.
