Surface APP does not show dock

My new Microsoft Surface Copilot+ 7 laptop does not show in Surface APP, any connected accessories, muchless my new Microsoft Surface Thunderbolt 4 dock, how do I update dock drivers?

Surface Thunderbolt 4 Dock firmware can be updated even if it does not appear under connected accessories in the Surface app by using the MSI package method.

Follow these steps:

1. Make sure Windows and Surface are fully updated while the dock is connected and powered. For general guidance, see the “Get the latest Surface and Windows updates” sections in the Surface Dock and Surface Thunderbolt 4 Dock articles.
2. To update the dock directly, download the MSI package for Surface Thunderbolt 4 Dock:
   • Go to Surface Thunderbolt 4 Dock Drivers and Firmware (listed in the Surface Dock update article).
   • Select Details, then choose the appropriate MSI package to download.
   • Run the MSI on the Surface Copilot+ PC with the dock connected and follow the installation prompts.
3. After installation completes, disconnect the Surface from the dock and reconnect it so the firmware update can finish applying.

If instead using the original Surface Dock (not Thunderbolt 4), use the Surface Dock Firmware Update tool:

1. Go to Download Surface Tools for IT.
2. Select Download.
3. Under Choose the download you want, select the latest Surface_Dock_FWUpdate_*.msi file only.
4. Run the MSI and complete setup. The dock will then update automatically.
5. Disconnect and reconnect the Surface device to finalize the update.

Note: Windows in S mode cannot use the MSI method; in that case, switch out of S mode or use a different Windows 10/11 device to run the update.
