Hello Ken Payne,
The certifications you mention that MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional), MCP+I, and MCSE from around 2000 were part of Microsoft’s legacy certification program. Those credentials were retired many years ago when Microsoft transitioned to the MCSA/MCSE tracks in the 2000s, and later to the role‑based certifications under Microsoft Learn.
If you are missing the records, the first step is to check whether your old MCP ID is still associated with a Microsoft Certification profile. Microsoft migrated most historical records into the Microsoft Learn Certification Dashboard. You can log in at https://learn.microsoft.com/certifications (learn.microsoft.com in Bing) and use the “Transcript” or “Certification History” section. If your MCP ID was never linked to a current Microsoft account, you may need to contact Microsoft Certification Support to merge or recover the old ID.
Be aware that while the transcript can still show your historical achievements, those certifications are no longer active or recognized as current. Microsoft only maintains them for historical record purposes. They cannot be renewed, and they don’t count toward current competency requirements. If you need proof for an employer or audit, you can request an official transcript through the Certification Dashboard once your old MCP ID is linked.
I hope you've found something useful here. If it helps you get more insight into the issue, it's appreciated to accept the answer. Should you have more questions, feel free to leave a message. Have a nice day!
