Quickparts Update

Question

Microsoft updated and now in order to utilize my Quickparts I have to type the Name+F3....I hate it and it slows me down so much!! How can we report to Microsoft we want the old Quickparts back wherein you just begin typing the Name and hit enter for it to pop up??

Quick Parts and AutoText behavior (how they are invoked and suggested) is controlled by the current Outlook/Word design and cannot be changed from the client side beyond the supported features.

To work within the current design and still provide feedback to Microsoft about the change:

1. Use Quick Parts/AutoText as currently implemented
   • In Outlook, pop out a new message or reply and click into the message body.
   • Select Insert > Quick Parts and choose the item from the Quick Part Gallery, or use the defined shortcut (such as Name + F3) for AutoText/Quick Parts where supported.
   • AutoText entries can be created or updated via Insert > Quick Parts > AutoText > Save Selection to AutoText Gallery.
2. Submit feedback to Microsoft from within Outlook
   • In Outlook for Windows, use the in‑product feedback channel (for example, Help > Feedback or the feedback option in the app’s menu, depending on the build).
   • Choose the option to Make a suggestion and describe that the previous behavior—typing the AutoText/Quick Part name and pressing Enter to insert—was faster and is preferred over the current Name+F3 requirement.
   • Include details such as Outlook version/build and that this affects productivity when composing mail.

These in‑product feedback channels are the supported way to request design changes or the return of previous behaviors.
