How to fix - There's content in your request or data that I'm unable to work with.

I have a Power BI Narrative. Once every few days the narrative will not generate I will get message "How to fix - There's content in your request or data that I'm unable to work with."

for fix this I just make some small changes to my "prompt" and it works...sometime change in prompt can be silly like move or changing a word and it will work. so how to get permanent fix.

The message indicates Copilot cannot safely or reliably generate a response from the current combination of prompt and report data. A permanent fix is not available in documentation, but several practices reduce how often this occurs and avoid having to “nudge” the prompt with random edits:

    1. Narrow the scope of the narrative
In the “Create a narrative with Copilot” dialog, avoid summarizing the entire report if it is large or complex. Instead:
      • Select only the most relevant pages, or
      • Select only a subset of visuals that are needed for the narrative.
    2. Simplify and clarify the prompt
      • Use short, direct instructions (for example, “Summarize key trends in sales by month and region.”).
      • Avoid combining many different tasks (trend analysis, anomaly explanation, forecasting, formatting, and tone changes) in a single prompt.
      • Remove ambiguous language or references to visuals that are not selected.
    3. Use Copilot’s built‑in adjustment flow
      After Copilot generates a narrative:
      • Use Adjust your summary with Copilot instead of rewriting the entire prompt from scratch.
      • Apply small, purposeful changes (for example, “Make the tone more formal” or “Focus only on the last quarter”).
    4. Exclude problematic visuals or pages
      If the error appears consistently:
      • Re‑run Copilot while excluding one page or visual at a time to identify which element causes the issue.
      • Once identified, either remove that visual from the narrative selection or simplify the visual (for example, reduce the number of fields or complex calculations).
    5. Leverage the smart narrative visual for heavy customization
Copilot narratives cannot be edited directly in the body. For complex or highly formatted narratives:
      • Generate the summary with Copilot.
      • Copy the generated text into a classic smart narrative visual.
      • Edit and maintain the text there, using Copilot only for regeneration when the data changes.
    6. Keep prompts and report structure stable
      • Once a prompt and selection of visuals are known to work reliably, avoid frequent structural changes to the report (renaming or removing visuals, changing fields) without re‑validating the narrative.
      • When changes are required, re‑test Copilot with a minimal prompt first, then layer on additional instructions.

These steps reduce the likelihood of Copilot encountering content it “can’t work with” and remove the need for arbitrary word changes to the prompt.
