Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
Microsoft 365 is not strictly required on a mobile device, but it is needed for certain scenarios and features.
On an Android phone or tablet, the free Word, Excel, and PowerPoint mobile apps let you do core tasks such as viewing, creating, and editing files. A qualifying Microsoft 365 subscription is required when:
- The mobile device screen is larger than 10.1 inches.
- Creating, editing, and saving files to online business storage services such as:
- Google Drive, Box, and other business storage
- OneDrive for Business
- Dropbox for Business
- Accessing premium features in the mobile apps (for example, advanced Word layout features, PowerPoint Designer, Morph transitions, and SmartArt editing).
If only using a phone or a small tablet (10.1" or less) for basic document work and personal storage, it is possible to use the free apps without a Microsoft 365 subscription. A subscription is needed only if those limits or premium features are required.
