Hi Az x DGK,
I’m really sorry you’re stuck in this situation. Based on what you described, it's likely that the reset process itself corrupts the default user profile or Windows shell, which also explains the black screen when entering recovery options. Here’s what you can try:
1 - Use the built-in admin account
- Power on the PC > force shutdown during boot 3 times to trigger recovery
- When in WinRE, choose Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Command Prompt
- If Command Prompt opens, run these commands one by one:
-
bcdedit | find "osdevice"- Note the drive letter here (oftenC:but not always). -
C:- ReplaceC:if needed -
cd \Windows\System32 -
net user administrator /active:yes
-
- Close and restart the PC > Sign‑in with Administrator (default no password)
- Once logged in, create a new user account and move all your data there.
2 - If you cannot reach Command Prompt at all, Windows recovery itself is damaged
- Boot from a Windows 10 USB installation media > choose Repair your computer
- If repair still fails, choose Reset this PC > Keep my files.
If none works, you might need to do a Clean Install. If it comes to that or/and there's any step you are not sure about, feel free to let me know and I can explain further!
