Hi xxxx,
Thanks for your post. I understand that your keyboard does not respond only at the initial PIN/password screen after startup but works normally after a restart and within Windows. Have you already tried the Q&A Assist suggestions? In addition, please try to turn off “Fast Startup”. Please try the steps below:
- Open “Control Panel”
- Go to “Hardware and Sound” > “Power Options”
- Select “Choose what the power buttons do” (left pane)
- Click “Change settings that are currently unavailable”
- Under “Shutdown settings”, uncheck “Turn on fast startup (recommended)”
- Select “Save changes”
- Shut down the PC completely (do not restart), then power it on and test the PIN screen
If the issue continues after disabling Fast Startup:
- If you are using an external USB keyboard, temporarily test with another keyboard or another USB port
- Disconnect any non‑essential USB devices and test again
This helps rule out initialization or hardware‑level conflicts at sign‑in.
