    Hello Saifoloi,

Thank you for posting question on Microsoft Windows Forum!

Based on the issue description as well as the provided the "BAD_SYSTEM_CONFIG_INFO" stop code (also known as Error 0x74) which probably points to a corruption in the Boot Configuration Data (BCD), a failed update or a corrupted Windows system file. Since the machine is looping at the Lenovo logo, it is failing to hand off the boot process from the BIOS to Windows.

The suggestion here is to perform power off completely. Sometimes the "on-and-off" loop is caused by residual power in the capacitors. Try to unplug the power adapter and all peripherals. Then press and hold the Power button for 60 seconds until it shuts down. Plug only the power back in and try to boot.

Please note: Back up data if possible.

Another suggestion is to trigger the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE). Since you can not boot into Windows, you need to force the recovery menu. Power the machine on and, as soon as you see the Lenovo logo, hold the Power button to force a shutdown. Repeat this three times. On the third or fourth attempt, Windows should display "Preparing Automatic Repair" and then lead you to a blue "Choose an option" screen. Navigate to Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Repair.

If Startup Repair fails, go to Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Command Prompt. Once you have the Command Prompt open, the first step is to ensure the bootloader knows where the OS lives. Run these commands in order. bootrec /fixmbr then bootrec /fixboot and bootrec /rebuildbcd After the last command, it will scan for Windows installations. If it finds one, type Y to add it to the boot list.

Hope the above information is helpful! If it is. Free feel to hit "Accepted" for benefitting others in community having the same issue too.

The BAD_SYSTEM_CONFIG_INFO blue screen and the current power‑cycling (showing only the Lenovo logo, then restarting) indicate serious system configuration or registry damage that Windows cannot recover from automatically.

Start with the basic blue‑screen troubleshooting, then move to the specific BAD_SYSTEM_CONFIG_INFO recovery steps:

    1. Power‑cycle and try Safe Mode
      1. Turn the PC off completely.
      2. Turn it on and as soon as the Lenovo logo appears, press and hold the power button to force it off. Repeat this 2–3 times until Windows shows “Preparing Automatic Repair” or the recovery environment.
      3. In the Windows Recovery Environment, go to Troubleshoot → Advanced options → Startup Settings → Restart, then choose Safe Mode.
      4. If Safe Mode starts and the PC stops rebooting, back up important data immediately.
    2. Apply basic stop‑code troubleshooting In Safe Mode (if reachable):
      1. Remove any recently added hardware (USB devices, new cards, etc.) and test again.
      2. Open Device Manager (right‑click Start → Device Manager) and check for devices with a yellow exclamation mark. Update, disable, or uninstall problematic drivers.
      3. Ensure the system drive has at least 10–15% free space.
      4. Install the latest Windows Updates if Windows Update is working.
    3. Address BAD_SYSTEM_CONFIG_INFO specifically BAD_SYSTEM_CONFIG_INFO usually means registry or boot configuration corruption. If the loop continues or Safe Mode does not work:
      1. Boot again into the Windows Recovery Environment (as above).
      2. Go to Troubleshoot → Advanced options.
      3. Try these in order:
        • System Restore: restore to a point before the problem started.
        • Startup Repair: let Windows attempt to fix boot configuration.
      4. If these do not resolve it, follow the BAD_SYSTEM_CONFIG_INFO guidance:
        • Confirm there is sufficient free space on the system drive.
        • Run System File Checker from recovery:
          • In Advanced options, open Command Prompt.
          • Run sfc /scannow (or, if needed, sfc /scannow /offbootdir=C:\ /offwindir=C:\Windows adjusting drive letters as shown in the recovery environment).
        • If the registry damage is too extensive and the loop persists, use recovery options:
          • Use a system restore point (if available).
          • Reset this PC (keeping files if possible).
          • As a last resort, use installation media to reset or reinstall Windows.
    4. When to move directly to Reset/Reload If the machine never reaches Safe Mode and continues to power‑cycle after the Lenovo logo, and System Restore/Startup Repair do not help, the registry or system configuration is likely badly corrupted. In that case:
      1. Boot to Windows Recovery Environment.
      2. Go to Troubleshoot → Reset this PC.
      3. Choose “Keep my files” if data on the system drive must be preserved, or a full reset/reinstall if a clean start is acceptable.

If the loop continues even after a clean reset or reinstall, suspect a hardware issue (disk, RAM, motherboard) and run hardware diagnostics from Lenovo’s built‑in diagnostics or from external media.
