I am using microsoft editor as instructed by my professor. when editor checks my work, i make the neccessary corrections until my editor score is 100 and there are no spelling and grammar errors. however, when I submit my work to the intructor he penalizes me because he says my editor score is in the 70's and i have 30+ grammatical errors. I need help.

In my daily life i work for a school disctrict in which all employees and students get a free download of microsoft.

    Dear @Beverly Crosby,

As a moderator, I do not have the tools to investigate your specific account directly because this is a user-to-user support forum. Our role is limited to providing technical support on reported issues, requests, or ideas. However, I will try my best to support you as clearly as possible.

Microsoft Editor results are not always identical across different setups. The score and the number of flagged items can change depending on where Editor is run (Word desktop vs Word on the web vs the browser extension), which rules are enabled, and what proofing language Word is using.

The reason of this mismatch is due to:

Different Editor settings (rules turned on/off)

    Language / proofing differences

Different platform (desktop vs web vs extension)

    Kindly try these following steps:

Step 1: Check using Word on the web (most consistent baseline)

Open your document in Word on the web (Office.com).

Run Editor there and note the score and categories.

Step 2: Reset Editor rules to default & enable the same categories

In Word (desktop): Open the Editor pane > Corrections > Grammar > Options > Customize suggestions.

    Either:

    Reset to default

Make sure you are using Grammar or Grammar & refinements consistently (don’t mix settings between attempts).

Step 3: Force one proofing language for the entire document

Press Ctrl + A (select all text).

Go to Review > Language > Set Proofing Language.

Choose the language your class requires (commonly English (United States)).

    Apply it to all text.

Step 4: Re-run Editor after making changes

Close and reopen the document, then run Editor again.

In addition, please check your Word version and update it.

I hope this full-fill your request, if it does not, please share more detailed information which I could help you efficiently.
