A Microsoft offering that enables tracking of cloud usage and expenditures for Azure and other cloud providers.
To check the current status and typical timeline for an Azure-related refund:
- Open the Microsoft account Order history page: Open Order history.
- Locate the Azure subscription or specific Azure SQL Database charge for which the refund was requested.
- The entry will show the refund status (for example, “Refund in process”, “Refunded”, or no refund entry if it was not eligible).
- If the status shows that the refund has been issued, allow a few days for the money to be credited back, as processing time depends on the bank/payment provider.
If there is no refund entry for that charge, it generally means the request was outside the refund eligibility period.
For unexpected Azure charges analysis or further clarification, a billing support request can be created from the Azure portal; billing support is free. See the Cost Management + Billing FAQ for guidance on contacting Azure billing support.
