    Hello,

With the charge format, starting with G, it can be a business invoice. Do you have commercial product with Microsoft, such as Microsoft 365 business subscription, Azure/Entra ID product, or Teams Essential subscription just to name a few?

If you are very sure that you purchased nothing from Microsoft - including anything with a recurring subscription, or an expired free trial - then you know that this charge is phony. That means someone pretending to be Microsoft has stolen your payment card information, and will continue to try to use it, until you shut them down by contacting your payment card issuer.

Subscription lookup and cancellation by payment reference alone is not possible.

To stop these monthly VISA charges and cancel the related subscription, follow these steps:

    1. Investigate what the charge is for
      • Go to the official guide: How to investigate a billing charge from Microsoft.
      • Use the steps there to identify which Microsoft account and product the “Microsoft-G144842651” charge belongs to. This is required because the charge does not appear in the current Order history view.
    2. Check all possible Microsoft accounts
      • Sign in to the Order history page at account.microsoft.com/billing with each Microsoft account that might have been used.
      • Under Payment & billing > Order history, refine by date around 8 March 2026 and look for charges with status Completed or Redeemed.
      • If the charge is found, open Order details to confirm the subscription.
    3. Cancel the subscription once located
      • Go to Subscriptions while signed in to the account that shows the charge.
      • Find the matching subscription and select Manage.
      • On the next page, select Cancel (or Upgrade or Cancel) and follow the on-screen steps.
      • If Turn on recurring billing is shown instead of Manage, the subscription is already set to expire and will not be charged again.
    4. Request a refund if eligible
      • After cancellation, check refund eligibility using the guidance in How to get a refund on a Microsoft subscription: How to get a refund on a Microsoft subscription.
      • Not all cancellations result in a refund; eligibility depends on the subscription and region.
    5. If the charge still cannot be found
      • Use the investigation steps above again to confirm it is a Microsoft charge and that all possible accounts have been checked.
      • If the transaction cannot be matched to any Microsoft account, contact Microsoft Support via the billing/support paths described in the Q&A references, or contact the card issuer to dispute the charge as potentially unauthorized.

Microsoft support and community guidance also emphasize that:

    • Subscription cancellation requires access to the owning Microsoft account; Microsoft personnel cannot cancel or locate subscriptions without it.
    • If neither Microsoft nor the cardholder can match the charge to an account, the bank/financial institution may need to block the card and issue a new one.
