Save documents?

I had Microsoft 365 word, ppt,.....that has expired. I have now signed up with my own account. I am using a free one month trial. Looks like I have to install Microsoft 365 event hough I have it on my computer. Will I lose my saved documents if I install Microsoft under my account?

I need to know - is this on Windows or MacOS? The instructions can be different, so this piece of information is important.

Also, what do you mean by you signed up with your own account? Was it under a different account prior?

Installing or reinstalling Microsoft 365 apps under a different or new account does not delete or remove existing documents.

Documents are stored wherever they were originally saved (for example, in local folders on the computer or in cloud storage such as OneDrive). When a Microsoft 365 subscription expires, the apps become deactivated for editing, but files remain intact and can still be viewed and printed. After signing in with a new subscription or trial, the apps regain full functionality and the same files can be opened and edited.

If documents were saved to OneDrive with the previous account, they remain associated with that account’s OneDrive. In that case, access depends on the ability to sign in to that original account. Files saved locally on the device are unaffected by account or subscription changes.
