Teams - How to assign a group task to upload for staff teams

Hello

We have staff teams (not classes) however we want to assign some 'assignments' to our staff / teachers where they can upload and complete common documents for us.

Is there a way to do this with the assigned teams, which have not been assigned as a class in teams.

As they have to complete several documents all under their own names and share this with me.

Assignments in Microsoft Teams (with grading, due dates, rubrics, etc.) are only available in Class teams in Teams for Education, not in Staff teams.

In a Staff team, there is no built‑in Assignments tab like in a Class team, so staff/teachers cannot receive or submit work using the Assignments and Grades features there. Those capabilities (create assignment, submit, grade, track in Grades tab) are specific to class teams.

To collect documents from staff in a Staff team, use alternatives such as:

• A shared Files folder in a channel where each staff member uploads their own documents (optionally in named subfolders), or
• A Form (e.g., via Microsoft Forms) that accepts file uploads and then stores them in SharePoint, or
• Creating a dedicated Class team (even if used for staff) so the Assignments feature can be used as designed.
