Hi,

I use windows 11 pro at my work, and I'm having issues with preview pane for Adobe Acrobat document - it is not loading at all

Whenever I click on the document, it shows an error message "The file you are attempting to preview could harm your computer. if you trust the file and the source you received it from, open it to view the contents."

I have tried all sorts of troubleshooting suggested by forums, community etc, also tried to right click on the adobe file --> properties -->and checking the unblock option under security

but nothing seems to resolve this issue. Please assist me in getting this resolvedPreview Pane ERROR (Adobe acrobat document).jpg

    Hello,

This is actually due to a security change from an update a while ago.

    https://support.microsoft.com/topic/file-explorer-automatically-disables-the-preview-feature-for-files-downloaded-from-the-internet-56d55920-6187-4aae-a4f6-102454ef61fb

In the document I shared with you above, Microsoft talked about how to override or unblock this behavior:

If you are confident in the safety of both the file and its source, you may remove the internet security block.

To remove the block for a downloaded file, right-click the file in File Explorer, select Properties, and then select Unblock. Note: The change might not take effect immediately but will be effective after the next login. Could this be the case for you, you didn't restart since you made the change?

If you have already restarted but still cannot get the preview to work, you said this is a computer at work. It is a work assigned device, right? In that case, check with work IT, there can be organization group policy specifically to block this as well.
