Building and customizing solutions using Microsoft 365 Copilot APIs and tools
Microsoft 365 Copilot includes built-in mechanisms for sharing exactly the kind of ongoing, operational feedback described.
To provide feedback directly from Copilot in Microsoft 365 apps:
- After Copilot generates a response in a Microsoft 365 app (such as Word, Outlook, or Teams), use the thumbs-up or thumbs-down icons shown next to the response.
- When one of these icons is selected, a feedback pane opens.
- For thumbs-up, it asks what was helpful.
- For thumbs-down, it asks what went wrong or what was missing.
- Add specific operational details (for example, extra steps required, lack of precision in certain tasks, or scenarios from recruitment/logistics workflows) and submit.
This user-initiated feedback is used only to improve Copilot with Microsoft 365 apps, including product quality and prioritization of feature requests. It is not used to train the underlying foundation models.
For a more continuous view of submitted feedback:
- Feedback can be reviewed in the Microsoft feedback portal at https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback by selecting My Feedback and signing in.
- In organizational environments, access to this portal or to in-product feedback may be controlled by the IT admin. If the thumbs icons do not appear or the feedback pane does not open, feedback has likely been disabled for the organization.
These are the primary supported channels for ongoing, direct participation in improving Microsoft 365 Copilot from daily operational use.
