The GitHub Copilot certification exam (GH-300) is a GitHub certification, not a Microsoft Certification, and it is maintained and managed by GitHub.
For issues with not receiving the GitHub Copilot certificate or not seeing status updates after passing the exam:
- Verify the correct profile and requirements
- Confirm that the correct exam was completed and passed for the GitHub Copilot certification as described in the GH-300 study guide.
- Ensure that the correct account/profile used for the exam is the same one being checked for the certification status.
- Be aware of GitHub ownership of the certification
- The GitHub Copilot certification and its associated exam are maintained by GitHub, even though the exam is provided by Microsoft. Management of the certificate, including issuance and status, is handled under GitHub’s policies and systems.
- Use official certification support if it were a Microsoft Certification
- For Microsoft Certifications, missing credentials are handled through Microsoft Credentials Support and the Microsoft Learn profile. However, the GitHub Copilot certification is not listed as a Microsoft Certification in the same way as standard Microsoft credentials.
Because the GitHub Copilot certification is maintained by GitHub, certificate delivery and status issues must be resolved through GitHub’s own certification/support channels rather than Microsoft Learn’s standard certification support.
