Getting the Certificate in my Personal account

Hello

I passed the AZ-900 exam and obtained the certification.

However, this was done by using my employers ESI facility.

But I gave my own personal Microsoft Learn profile. So, how do I get this certification to appear on my personal account profile. I would like all the certification to appear in my personal account so that they will be accessible even if I change the employer.

Can I keep my profile indefinitely, regardless of my employment status?

Yes, but only if your Microsoft Learn profile has a personal account added to it. . If your work or school account is the only login account on your profile, losing access to that account through a change of employment will result in loss of access to your Learn profile. Microsoft can't assist with recovery of work or school accounts.

In order to carry your profile with you regardless of your employment status, make sure to add your personal account to your profile. See "Add login account" on profile settings page.

It is not clear that this is an activity I have to keep repeating. It is not clear that after merging and linking, my personal profile will be made my main profile.

So if my next certification is also obtained via my employer (profile 1) will I be able to merge again, transfer the certificate and then unlink again?

Profile 1 is my employer. Profile 2 is my personal profile. I want the data to merge to Profile 2. My personal account should be number 1.

To keep certifications with a personal Microsoft Learn account, the certification must ultimately reside in the Learn profile that uses the personal account. When an exam is taken under a different account or profile, the certification is associated with that profile.

From the provided guidance, the supported way to consolidate certifications when they are split across different Learn profiles is to use profile linking and merging so that all credentials end up under the desired profile:

1. Sign in to the Learn profile that currently holds the certification (for example, the profile associated with the employer account).
2. In that profile, go to Settings → Login account management / Linked accounts and add/link the other Learn profile (the one that should ultimately hold all certifications, i.e., the personal Learn profile).
3. Wait until the confirmation banner indicates that the transfer/migration of certification and training data has completed.
4. After the transfer is confirmed, the certifications and training progress from the first profile will appear in the target profile.
5. If needed, unlink the temporary/bridge profile from Settings → Login account management → Linked accounts → Remove. The transferred content remains in the target profile.
