A second manual scoring or “recount” of a Microsoft renewal assessment result is not available. Renewal assessments and exams are scored automatically, and Microsoft does not offer re-evaluation of scores or section-level rescoring.
If there is concern that specific questions in the renewal assessment for Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate are technically inaccurate or flawed, the supported option is to use the exam item challenge process:
- Ensure the renewal assessment was taken within the last 15 calendar days.
- Identify the specific item(s) believed to be inaccurate (for example, based on technical correctness, clarity, or relevance).
- Submit a challenge via the official Exam item challenge process. Challenges must target specific items; challenges to the entire assessment, to scoring methodology, or based only on study materials are not accepted.
Even when an item is found to be flawed, Microsoft does not assume it would have been answered correctly and therefore typically does not change the result. Instead, if an error is confirmed, the usual remedy is the opportunity to retake the exam or assessment (for certification exams, often free of charge). For renewal assessments, retakes are already unlimited as long as they occur before the certification expires.
For next steps:
- Use the score report’s section-level feedback to focus preparation on weaker areas.
- Retake the renewal assessment; there is no limit to renewal assessment retakes before expiration, though after the second attempt there is a required 24-hour wait between attempts.
If the certification has already expired, renewal is no longer possible; the certification must be earned again by passing the required exam(s).
