I do not have any record of this subscription and would like to talk to somebody on the phone about this please. My phone number is 217-251-2920. This is Steven Kemper with the City of Paris Illinois

If I were to have any account or charges for a Microsoft 365 or whatever this bill would be for. There would be a record on one of my emails. Both of my emails are [Moderator note: PII removed}@parisillinois.org

[Moderator note: PII removed]@gmail.com

I do have a record of a 365 account with different dates and different amounts again, please have someone call me to get this resolved. My credit card is charging me late fees now claiming that this is a legit Bill..

    Hello Steve Kemper II,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum!

I understand that you are having issue with unrecognized charge. I truly understand how you feel. Let me assist you further.

    1. To identify the charge

Sign in to your Microsoft account > Order history: https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders Check Services & subscriptions: https://account.microsoft.com/services If you have multiple Microsoft accounts, repeat steps 1–2 for each account (Outlook, Hotmail, Live, Gmail‑based Microsoft accounts). If you use Microsoft Family, check if another member made a purchase.

    1. For refunding, please contact support for the best assistance:

Please understand for me that I would like to help you. But this community is a user-to-user forum, and I don't have access to the user's data and I'm not authorized to do so. I suggest you contact the Microsoft Customer Service team directly for the best assistance.

Once you’ve tried the steps above, you can also reach out directly to the Microsoft Support team. It may offer live chat and, depending on your subscription/region, an option to request a callback:

    • Go to https://support.microsoft.com/home/contact
    • Search for "Refund Microsoft 365 subscription" in the search box.
    • Click "Get Help", then scroll to the bottom and select "Contact Support”.
    • When prompted to select Products & Services, select Billing> Subscriptions> Charged unexpectedly / Refund
    • Look for and select "Chat with a support agent in your web browser" (during business hours). Once connect, explain your situation clearly.

Please note that the chat support team only works during certain working hours. Therefore, if the last window indicates that you are unavailable, try opening it again the next day. If you prefer phone support, you can leave a phone number. That way, they can call you and help you.

Please note that this is a user‑to‑user support forum. Moderators, contributors, and external Microsoft staff cannot directly intervene in Microsoft product features or access back‑end systems. Our role is limited to providing technical guidance on reported issues, requests, or ideas. Still, I will do my best to assist you with everything I can.

To refund and check for refund eligible you can refer to this website, follow the steps instruction:

    Best Regards,

Phone contact cannot be initiated, but the charge can be investigated and disputed using Microsoft’s self-service and support options.

To investigate the $141.36 “Microsoft 36/365” charge and get help:

    1. Investigate the charge online
      1. Go to the Manage your payments page of the Microsoft account dashboard: Manage your payments.
      2. Sign in with each email address that might be associated with the subscription (for example, the @parisillinois.org and Gmail addresses mentioned).
      3. Locate the charge and select Investigate next to it. This tool walks through common causes such as:
        • A Microsoft 365 subscription with recurring billing enabled.
        • A purchase made by someone else using the card.
        • A previously declined charge that was retried.
        • An in-app or store purchase.
    2. Check for subscriptions and cancel if needed
      1. While signed in, go to Services & subscriptions in the same Microsoft account.
      2. If a Microsoft 365 or other subscription matching the amount/date is found, use the options there to turn off recurring billing or cancel.
      3. If cancellation is blocked because of overdue balance, follow the guidance under Check your credit cards in the cancellation article, then cancel once the balance is cleared.
    3. Request a refund (if eligible)
      1. After cancelling the subscription, check refund eligibility using the Microsoft subscription refund process described in How to get a refund on a Microsoft subscription.
      2. If the charge is unrecognized, use the Manage your payments page and its Investigate flow first; that is the entry point for unrecognized-charge refunds.
    4. If the charge or account cannot be found
      1. Use the How to investigate a billing charge from Microsoft troubleshooter: Start.
      2. If the transaction still cannot be located under any account, contact Microsoft Support via the official Contact – Microsoft Support entry point (from the “Get help with your Microsoft account” article) and choose a billing category to reach an agent (chat or call-back, depending on availability).
      3. If Microsoft Support cannot locate the charge under any account, work with the credit card issuer to dispute the transaction as potentially fraudulent and stop further charges.
    5. If account access is not available
      • If the subscription is tied to an account that cannot be accessed and ownership cannot be proven, cancellation through Microsoft may not be possible. In that case, the bank or card issuer must block the merchant and reverse or dispute the charge.

Because this involves an active charge and late fees, it is important to:

    • Use the Manage your paymentsInvestigate path immediately.
    • Contact Microsoft Support through the official support channel if self-service does not resolve it.
    • Escalate to the bank/credit card issuer to dispute the charge if Microsoft cannot locate it.
