Hello TIH-Operations,
Thank you for posting question on Microsoft Windows Forum!
Based on the issue description. Well! The fact of the matter is that once an onmicrosoft.com domain is deleted from a Microsoft 365 subscription, it cannot be self-restored through the admin center. The only way to recover it is by contacting Microsoft Support directly, as this requires backend intervention.
Unlike custom domains you add, the default onmicrosoft.com domain is tied to your tenant identity. If removed, it cannot be re-added manually. The Microsoft 365 admin portal does not provide a restore function for deleted onmicrosoft.com domains. As a result, only Microsoft Support engineers can investigate and potentially recover the domain.
The suggestion here is to open a support ticket online. Sign in to Microsoft 365 admin center → Help & support → type the issue → Contact support. Clearly state for the issue “Deleted onmicrosoft.com domain for my subscription – need recovery assistance.”. For more information https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/admin/get-help-support?view=o365-worldwide
In case, you can not access the admin center, go to support.microsoft.com and select Business Support. Choose Microsoft 365 → Domains/Identity → start a support chat or request a callback. Please note: Providing Tenant Details such as subscription ID or tenant ID, the exact onmicrosoft.com domain name that was deleted and approximate date/time of deletion.
If your organization has a support plan, Microsoft also provides a Create a support request path for business customers to expedite the assistance process.
Hope the above information is helpful! If it is. Free feel to hit "Accepted" for benefitting others in community having the same issue too.
