Hi,

One of the Surface laptop 7th edition with Qualcomm processor and Qualcomm fast connect 7800 Wifiadaptor is frequently loosing Wifi connect and in device manager it shows Error code 10 " Status_Device_Power_Failure".

I have installed Surface utility and done all updates, also Downloaded latest drives from Microsoft Catalog update site and updated drives - but still its frequently giving same problem.

Realtec USB LAN controller is working perfectly fine.

Can someone help in this regard....

    You already:

    Updated drivers

    Installed Surface updates

    Tried reinstall

    Error is:

    Code 10 – Status_Device_Power_Failure

→ This points to hardware/firmware-level failure, not normal software

    External USB LAN works fine

→ Confirms Wi-Fi module is the problem.

I shall suggest you replace the device.

Follow these steps to troubleshoot the Qualcomm Wi-Fi adapter with Code 10 (STATUS_DEVICE_POWER_FAILURE) on Surface Laptop for Business (7th Edition):

    1. Verify the Wi‑Fi adapter in Device Manager
      1. Select Search on the taskbar, type Device Manager, and open it.
      2. Expand Network adapters and confirm that a Qualcomm Wi‑Fi Network Adapter is listed for this Surface model.
    2. Disable and re‑enable the Wi‑Fi adapter
      1. In Device Manager, double‑click the Qualcomm Wi‑Fi Network Adapter.
      2. Go to the Driver tab and select Disable Device.
      3. In the warning dialog, select Yes.
      4. After it is disabled, select Enable Device to turn it back on.
      5. Restart the Surface: Start > Power > Restart (or Update and restart if updates are pending).
This clears cases where Wi‑Fi is logically disabled or stuck in a bad power state.
    3. Remove and reinstall the Wi‑Fi driver (do not use on other ARM models than documented) For Surface Laptop (7th Edition) with Qualcomm Wi‑Fi, use the documented remove/reinstall flow that applies to Qualcomm Wi‑Fi Network Adapter devices:
      1. Open Device Manager again and expand Network adapters.
      2. Right‑click the Qualcomm Wi‑Fi Network Adapter and select Uninstall device.
      3. In the uninstall dialog, select Attempt to remove the driver for this device (or Delete the driver software for this device, depending on the dialog text) and then select Uninstall/OK.
      4. Restart the Surface.
Windows will reinstall the Wi‑Fi adapter driver on restart. This is the primary remediation for persistent Code 10 on the adapter.
    4. Install the latest Surface drivers and firmware After Wi‑Fi is stable enough to get online (or using the working Realtek USB LAN):
      1. Run Windows Update to install all pending updates for Windows and Surface.
      2. If needed, use another PC to download the latest Surface Laptop (7th Edition) driver and firmware MSI from the official Surface download page, copy it via USB, and install it locally. This ensures the Qualcomm Wi‑Fi and platform firmware are fully up to date.
    5. If Wi‑Fi settings disappear entirely If at any point Wi‑Fi options vanish from Settings and the adapter disappears from the taskbar, re‑check Device Manager:
      1. Confirm the Qualcomm Wi‑Fi Network Adapter is present under Network adapters.
      2. If present but disabled, repeat the Disable DeviceEnable Device steps above.

If, after these steps, the Qualcomm adapter still frequently reports Code 10 and drops the connection while the Realtek USB LAN remains stable, this typically indicates a hardware or platform‑level issue. In that case, contact Surface support or the device reseller for hardware diagnostics or replacement, referencing the persistent STATUS_DEVICE_POWER_FAILURE (Code 10) on the Qualcomm Wi‑Fi adapter despite driver reinstall and firmware updates.
