I can not Access an Account I do not Have Login Credentials But am Being Invoiced $6.30

I have a charge for $6.30 that I expect is for 365 business Basic. I have an email showing Tenet Number and some other details but I can not access this account in order to view a receipt or cancel this subscription. I try logging into this account with the email where I received this info and nothing is showing up. This email shows 0 subscriptions.

How can I go about accessing this account as I have tried all known email addresses and neither has a subscription attached to it. Chat support said I have to talk with business support. When I reach out to business support it sends me to a prompt about logging in then disconnects my call. Chat support also gave me the following email "******@microsoftsupport.com". I sent them an email and this bounces back as a bad email address.

Can I log in with a Tennent Number? Or is there something anyone could recommend? Microsoft hasn't been much help other than to push me from one department to another. Thanks

    Hi @Michael Capozzoli,

Thank you for reaching out. I understand how dificult it can be to see a charge for Microsoft 365 Business Basic when you’re unable to sign in, can’t find the subscription under any of the email addresses you’ve tried, and are being redirected between support channels without clear guidance.

When the subscription was first purchased, Microsoft sent a confirmation email to the address used during sign‑up. This email typically contains the admin account information, which often follows the format ******@yourcompany.onmicrosoft.com.

Please note that the email address used to receive billing notifications or purchase confirmations is not always the same as the admin account used to sign in to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center and manage the subscription.

If you’re unsure which account is the admin, I recommend searching your inbox for the original confirmation email using keywords such as “Microsoft” or “onmicrosoft.com”.

If you’re unable to locate this email and you are the only administrator for the organization, this situation requires contacting Microsoft’s Data Protection Team. Only this team has the authorization and backend tools needed to verify ownership and restore access to the tenant or admin account in cases like this.

Option 1: Contact Microsoft Data Protection Support by Phone (Primary Method)

To regain access to your admin account as you can't access the Admin Portal, you can try reaching out to our Global Customer Service phone to raise a request for resetting your authentication method here: Customer service phone numbers - Microsoft Support. During the call, request to speak to an agent, and share with them every detail related to your query and also mention that you are the only admin lost access to your account. This should allow you to contact the appropriate team so you can solve this incident as soon as possible.

Here are some tips and an example of a prompt to help you navigate the IVR more effectively:

In some countries, it is an automated conversation like:

IVR: What kind of problem are you concerned about?

    You: Authenticator.

IVR: What kind of product do you use?

    You: Office 365 for business.

IVR confirmation: education or company account?

    You: For companies

    IVR: Are you an administrator?

    You: Yes.

IVR: Do you have another administrator in your organization?

    You: No.

IVR: Do you need a... Service request?

You: Yes. I need to create a ticket. Please send me direct to the Data Protection Team.

Option 2: Create a Temporary Account (Trial Tenant) to Submit a Support Ticket (Alternative Method)

If you still cannot reach to a live agent, there is still a workaround, you might consider registering for a new tenant by signing up for a trial subscription via this link Microsoft 365 Business Plans and Pricing | Microsoft 365. This would allow you to create a new tenant following the prompts provided. Once set up, you can access the admin console of the new tenant and submit a support ticket requesting to speak with the Data Protection team on behalf of your previous tenant.

Just to clarify, moderators do not have the ability to view or change user account information, so we cannot help with login issues, password resets, or modifying access rights. Even though we cannot access the internal tools required for account‑specific fixes, we are here to support you in every way we can within our scope.

Please remember to cancel the trial subscription after your issue is resolved, as this will help you avoid any accidental billing. I hope this helps you regain access to your account quickly. Please try the steps and let me know whether they resolve the issue. If the problem persists, we can work together to find a solution.

There is no way to sign in with only a tenant number, and access or cancellation cannot be done without valid sign-in credentials for the Microsoft account or work/school account that owns the subscription.

Because the login email in use shows no subscriptions and there is no working way to authenticate to the correct tenant, this becomes an account‑ownership and billing issue that only Microsoft support or the payment provider can resolve. Community forums and general support channels cannot see or change account details.

From the provided guidance, there are effectively two practical options in a situation where the subscription owner account cannot be accessed:

    1. Work through Microsoft’s formal account/billing support
      • Use the official Microsoft support entry points (for example, the “I need to talk to a customer support agent” or “Contact Support” flows) and choose billing/account topics so an agent can look up the tenant and subscription using:
        • The tenant ID/number from the email
        • The order/charge details from the invoice or bank/credit‑card statement
      • Be prepared that support will require proof of ownership and may direct to complete formal verification or recovery steps. If the account is a work/school (business) tenant and there is only one admin, the case may be escalated to specialized teams (such as the Microsoft Data Protection team) to verify identity and regain admin access before any subscription changes are made.
    2. Stop the charges at the bank/credit‑card level
      • If ownership of the underlying Microsoft account cannot be proven or the account cannot be recovered, the recommended alternative is to cancel the recurring payment directly with the card issuer or bank.
      • This is specifically suggested when there is no way to sign in or manage the subscription online, because Microsoft will not bypass account‑security requirements based only on a claim of ownership.

    In summary:

    • Logging in with a tenant number is not supported.
    • Cancellation or receipt access requires access to the correct Microsoft account or a successful identity‑verification process with Microsoft support.
    • If that cannot be completed, contact the bank or card issuer to block or dispute the recurring Microsoft 365 charge.
