Hi! This happens because Microsoft may ask for a code when it detects an unusual sign-in attempt, a new device or location, or any activity that could put the account at risk, even if the device itself is already signed in; if two-step verification is enabled, those extra prompts can also appear more often by design. To reduce how often this happens, review your account’s Recent activity for unfamiliar sign-ins, make sure your phone number and alternate email under Security > Manage how I sign in are current, remove outdated verification methods, avoid repeated failed sign-in attempts, and sign in from your usual trusted devices and networks whenever possible.
Hotmail keeps asking for phone for verification

This just started acting up over the last week. When I log into my email it ask me the phone number or alternate email address to send a code. It is aggravating. I use hotmail and all I want it to do is I give it my email the it ask for my password. It has been doing it on the Computer and android. One day it was almost impossible to sign in. Even with the computer itself signed in?
Appreciate any help, Bruce
