What to do Windows 7 initpki.dll missing? Upon attempting to run Windows Defender on à Windows 7 machine, I realized I am missing both initpki.dll and wucltui.dll DLL files.

PLS, How can this be fixed ?

Here is what I found could be the possible reason for this and the recommendation is to Upgrade to a supported version of Windows: i.e. Windows 10 or Windows 11.

Windows 7 reached end of support on January 14, 2020

Windows Defender definitions, Windows Update components, and crypto libraries are no longer serviced

initpki.dll (PKI initialization / crypto trust) and wucltui.dll (Windows Update client UI) are system files that depend on a fully supported Windows Update + cryptography stack

When these files are missing or fail to load on Windows 7:

It usually means system corruption + unsupported update stack

Windows Defender cannot run or be repaired in a supported way

Microsoft no longer provides replacement binaries or fixes for Windows 7
